a seed, a bud, a tree
i want to dig under the dirt and hold your hands slowly, setting the seed down.
covering it up with the dirt we dug together, pouring the freshwater we held.
day by day, week by week, month by month, we watch it grow.
this is our marker, showing how long i’ve loved you.
